Police say they are investigating after a “suspicious” blaze destroyed a home on Reid Street on Saturday 23 August.
Emergency services were called to the very end of the street near the Castlereagh River at about 5am, where they found the house well alight.
Coonamble Fire and Rescue (NSWFR) captain Andrew Morley said a collapsed tin roof complicated firefighting efforts.
“We just had a bit of trouble getting in underneath the tin to fully extinguish it, so we were there for a little while,” he said.
