A thousand racing pigeons decorated the Coonamble sky on Tuesday 19 November morning as they took off for the 500 mile race to Melbourne.Transport officers Sam Spiliopoulos and Digger Mallerick from the Victorian Homing Association went to the Showgrounds at 6am to release the pigeons from their truck for their last race of this year.Each of the pigeons have a tag around their legs for identification and to record their finishing time.Around 100 owners in Melbourne . . .
