Residents on some of the shire’s rural roads say it’s been a smoother ride over the last few months following major repair work completed by Coonamble Shire Council.
There were three major flood events in 2021 and 2022, wreaking havoc across the shire’s network of unsealed rural roads.
But with disaster declaration funding to be spent, and some drier weather assisting, a flurry of roadworks have been underway over the past few months using a combination of council road crews and contracted teams.
