Regional banking advocates say they are still waiting on the federal government's response around 500 days after a parliamentary inquiry handed down a report into branch closures.
The bipartisan inquiry fielded 600 public submissions and 13 hearings, and made eight recommendations including a mandatory banking code of conduct and a probe into establishing a public bank.
Parkes MP Jamie Chaffey said the wait on the government's answer is "frustrating.""It's a lack of care and understanding for regional communities," the Nationals MP said.
