An estimated 160,000 NSW residents could now be using weight-loss medications such as Wegovy, Ozempic and Mounjaro, but a Dubbo dentist is urging patients not to overlook one important member of their healthcare team – their dentist.
With around half a million Australians now using GLP-1 medications each month, the Australian Dental Association NSW (ADA NSW) says many patients are unaware that common side effects of the drugs can increase the risk of tooth decay, gum disease and enamel damage.
