It’s usually someone from outside the area who delivers the Australia Day speech in Gulargambone, but this year it landed on home-grown global ice swimming gold medallist Peta Bradley.
Gulargambone was one of six locations that didn’t receive an ‘official’ ambassador through the national program, so the choice fell on local farmer and councillor Paul Fisher.
