The plight of the homeless is becoming starkly obvious, as the deepening housing shortage means even fewer options for vulnerable people.
The problem can no longer be hidden, even in smaller towns like Coonamble where, unlike previous years, rough sleepers have been seen in parks, carparks and other public areas over the last couple of months.
