Jack Frost has visited more than once, and it’s influenced the feed quality across the district.The quality of plants like windmill grass and buffel will now be essentially that of cardboard and the nutritional management of your livestock needs to be managed to take this into account.In many paddocks, the winter feed has not had the decent rain and sunshine it needs to allow it to grow, and as a result it is sparse.I imagine cows that will calve this winter are losing weight, steer and heifer weight gains are back under half a kilo . . .
