A paramedic has been praised for staying with a hiker who had been injured in an isolated area of Warrumbungle National Park.
Around 4.30 pm on Wednesday 1 October, a Westpac Rescue Helicopter was tasked by the NSW Ambulance Aeromedical Control Centre to a hiker who had suffered a leg injury on a remote track in the Warrumbungle National Park, west of Coonabarabran.
The NSW Ambulance critical care paramedic from the helicopter’s critical care medical team was winched into the scene and treated a patient in their 50s for an ankle injury.
