Coonamble reminds Christy Castañares of where she used to live.
Born in December 1993, the nurse grew up around an hour’s drive from the Philippine city of Cebu.
She said there weren’t a lot of neighbours around.
“It’s really nice here, very peaceful.
“People are very nice and helpful and very friendly,” she said.
Christy began a nursing degree after she finished high school.
Her aunt was a nurse and offered to pay for her education if Christy followed in her footsteps.
