Emily Layzell made the move to Coonamble from the Hunter Valley region to immerse herself in the country experience in the midst of her Vet studies.
The 20-year-old arrived in early September.
She grew up helping out on her grandfather’s property at Castle Rock near Muswellbrook.
Emily said this is where she fell in love with cattle and horse-work.
With years of working with cattle up her sleeve, she applied and was accepted for a job at the Coonamble Feedlot as a pen rider.
