Lee to take over the editor’s chair

29/01/2017 by Coonamble Times

THE cat is officially out of the bag. Lee O’Connor will be the new editor of the Coonamble Times in 2017. A more than suitable replacement, Lee has spent the last decade striving to improve the lot of local businesses and bring economic stimulus to Coonamble. Now she thinks it’s time for a change. “I’ve wanted to be part of the paper for a long time,” said Lee. “I did my first work experience in year ten with Jim Ellis and I’ve looked at it about four times in the last 30 years,” said Lee. Lee takes over the running of the paper as of the fi rst edition in February and she hopes the paper can continue to be a valuable tool for businesses. “I’ve been dealing with local businesses for 15 years as the Shire’s Economic Development Manager and I thought I’d have a shot to see if there is another way to promote the shire and business in Coonamble,” she said. “I’m looking forward to a steep learning curve and the support from the public and local business,” Lee concluded.
