After a solid performance in Adelaide four weeks ago running 15th nationally, hopes were high for Liam Jackson to put in a strong performance in Newcastle for Round 2 of the Fox Australian Supercross Series on Saturday 11 November.

In qualifying Liam rode fastest in his group putting in a time of 45.858 seconds on his last run.

Next up was the heats, against some of the best riders that Australia and the United States have to offer.

After a stellar performance, Liam came in at 5th in his heat, putting himself up to 9th position for the finals at night.

In the first final Liam climbed to eighth spot, and while making a pass for seventh another rider cut across him causing him to come to an abrupt stop.

The result was a dislocated left shoulder.

Supercross medics got his shoulder back in and he lined up ready for the second final.

However, the injury took its toll and Liam ended up finishing 18th, a valiant effort for someone with literally one good arm.

As a result, he took the third final off.

Liam now takes a five month rest off to rehabilitate his shoulder as a result of the injury.
