Local Landcare leaders say ‘thanks’

Coonamble land carers marked a year of looking after the environment as the nation-wide Landcare Week kicked off in early August.

Over the last 12 months, Coonamble Castlereagh Landcare ran a range of events including their Alternative Agricultural Workshop and the popular October 2024 Carp Buster, which drew over 100 people to fish the invasive European Carp from local waterways.

Landcare Coordinators Matilda Taylor and Cassie Andrews said they hope to run another fish-a-thon in 2026.
