A LOCAL member of the Rural Fire Service (RFS) is among six NSW RFS members announced as recipients of the Australian Fire Service Medal on Monday 11 June as part of the Queen's Birthday Honours for 2018.
Martin Harrison joined the Coonamble Headquarters Brigade of the New South Wales Rural Fire Service (NSWRFS) in 1996 and served as Deputy Captain from 2009 to 2013.
