Locals have their say on water buybacks at Government Inquiry

Photo: Macquarie Marshes graziers Dugald Bucknell and Garry Hall made their case at the NSW Government’s Inquiry into the impacts of irrigation water buybacks in Narrabri last week.

Local graziers had their say on water buybacks when a government inquiry hit Narrabri on Thursday 9 October.

Buybacks are where governments purchase water entitlements from growers to reduce the volume extracted from the Murray Darling Basin.

Macquarie Marshes graziers Garry Hall and Dugald Bucknell were among those who fronted a committee of state politicians, led by Barwon MP Roy Butler.
