A light magnitude 2.7 earthquake hit 23 kilometres east of Gilgandra in the early hours of Thursday 24 April 2025.
The earthquake was recorded by seismic instruments based in Dubbo, Cobar, Lightning Ridge and Tamworth.
It came just shy of 24 hours after the 4.6 magnitude quake that shook people awake around Warkworth, near Singleton in the Hunter Valley at around 3am on 23 April…
