Winter sure has arrived with cold daily temperatures forecast for the foreseeable future.
While this will have temporarily halted the lifecycle of the barbers pole worm (a good thing for sheep in our district!) it will be tough on some livestock and they may need some extra care.
Animals most at risk are calving or lambing mobs, newly born animals, those in low condition and sick animals.
It’s a good idea to make sure that high risk stock have prioritised paddocks with shelter.
