Over twenty tonnes of batteries have already been relocated out of the district raising more than $8000 for local projects, thanks to the Coonamble Rotary Club's first battery drive.
The initiative has been so successful that the club have decided to go around again.
"We know there's a lot more out there so we'll probably run it for about six weeks," said Rotarian Emily Ryan.
"From the last drive we covered our commitment to the portable ultrasound machine at the hospital and that's been purchased and is being used . . .
