A PROPOSAL for two new river gauges along the Castlereagh River has been rejected by the State Government while an upgrade to a gauge on the Marthaguy Creek was granted funding approval and another upgrade on the Terrigal Creek was shortlisted.
Funding for twenty new or upgraded stream and store gauges across the Northern Murray Darling Basin have recently been allocated by the NSW Government.
The work leading to the selection of sites was completed before flooding began in late 2021 and a decision to reconsider the remaining locations may provide some hope for landholders . . .
