Coonamble’s youth jobs service says they are working with local organisations to get young people into education and employment as the latest government figures show youth participation rate sits stubbornly low.
As revealed in last week’s edition, almost 36 per cent of shire locals aged 18-24 were in neither education, training nor employment in the 2024 December quarter, according to figures released in July by Jobs and Skills Australia.
That compares to about 13 per cent in regional NSW and around 15 per cent throughout regional Australia.
