WINTER arrived slightly ahead of time on Monday 30 May as a strong cold front moved across the state dropping temperatures and bringing strong winds.
The Bureau of Meteorology issued a severe weather warning for damaging winds, showers and possible snow in the south.
Winds around 70 kilometres an hour were expected with gusts of more than 90 kilometres an hour and BOM duty forecaster Morgan Papa warned that it could bring trees and even powerlines down due to the already saturated soils in most areas.
