The excitement of the 109th Carinda Races spilled over from the tracks onto the grounds as a crowd of up to 300 onlookers gathered to watch the jockeys compete for the Cup on Saturday 20 July.
Despite a slight wind, the sun provided warmth and the air remained clear and dust-free.
The programme consisted of six races with a prize pool of $74,000.
The Carinda races are always a big day for the small town.
