The season is soon upon us!
Things are looking good for both the croppers and the graziers!
It’s a great position for all of us.
The sheep and lamb markets have been very buoyant of late.
With record lamb prices being clocked up in many major selling centers across the country recently we saw $400.00 as a NSW record this week in Forbes.
With spot prices at $10.00/kg and in some places higher the processor is feeling the pain at present.
Mutton prices are also very rewarding with forward prices out through August up to $6.50/kg.
Store lambs are hard to source and for many look expensive, I still see upside in purchasing store lambs if sourced with enough time and weight to get the job done well!
The cattle market is also quite buoyant with crop entry weight Angus steers seeing prices of $4.60/90 and better in places.
Feeders are also doing well with heifers up to $4.10 and steers well over that mark if bred well and in the right weight ranges.
Cows are still selling well in the region of 2.70-3.10 for the good ones and isolated higher prices for the better yielding too cows.
It’s time to make hay while the sun shines!
