A local property owner has reported two dead brumbies beside the Pilliga Road around 50 kilometres north east of Coonamble, the cause of death is unknown.
The person, who wishes to remain anonymous, says they first saw the body of a wild stallion on the side of the road on 30 September.
They spotted the second, a mare with an underdeveloped foal beside her, on Friday 3 October.The carcasses were on opposite sides of the road around 10 metres apart.
