Rugby league clubs across the region are building pathways for change in the reserve grade competition, and the Coonamble Bears are backing the movement.
In 2026 the reserve grade Community Cup tournament will kick off before the footy season, starting in February.
The local footy community hopes this will encourage more players to take part in the carnival and the season that follows.
The Coonamble Bears Rugby League club is one of five teams involved in the reserve grade switch-up next season, including Gulargambone, Mendooran, Trangie, Walgett and Binnaway.
