Rowena locals told to boil water after E-Coli alert

Over 150 people are urged to boil water in Rowena Village after Walgett Shire detected E-Coli in a recent water sample.

“E-Coli has been detected in a recent water sample, indicating contamination of the water supply. A boil water alert has been issued effective immediately,” according to an 18 April release on the council website.

Drinking water contaminated with E-Coli can cause gastro-intestinal issues including diarrhea and pneumonia…
