The week before last was Budget Week in Parliament, always one of the most significant sitting weeks of the year. Budgets tell us a lot about a government's priorities, not just by what they fund, but also by what they choose not to fund.
While there were some positive commitments for Barwon, including continued funding for a number of important projects already underway, the Budget once again highlighted the gap between what regional communities contribute to the state and what they receive in return.
