Six stray cattle spotted along the Quambone Road on the morning of 6 September are believed to be stolen, according to NSW Police.
Coonamble locals contacted Police about the strays along near the Coonamble Jockey Club.
A local said that he saw the cattle around Coonamble Golf Club around 8am that morning and tried ringing several property owners to see if it was their cattle that had snuck through the fences but to no avail.
There were no National Livestock Identification System (NLIS) devices or property management tags on the cattle.
