Sue, Jarrod and Jenny win big

22/03/2026 by The Coonamble Times

This week the green has slowed and when the wind is in your face it is incredibly hard.

So how do you pick the wind when one minute it is coming from the northwest one end and by the time you get down the other end it changes and is blowing from the southeast.

This week we saw how changeable the wind was and how difficult it makes things.

Tuesday Mixed Bowls
On Tuesday 10 March there was one game of mixed pairs and one game of mixed triples.

The game was over 12 ends and the green was running at 16 seconds.

On rink 1 Pattie Webb and Daryle Craig V’s Narelle Mayoh and Jay Jay.

Jay Jays team were first off the mark and ahead 4/1 by the 4th end.

Pattie and Daryle found their rhythm and picked up 7 shots over 2 ends to be 8/4 ahead on the 6th end.

After another 2 ends Narelle and Jay Jay gained 2 shots to be 6/8 down on the 8th end.

On the 9th end on Pattie and Daryle lifted their game and scored 12 shots to end the game on the 12th end with a score of 20/6 on 7 ends.

On rink 2 Mark Sefton, Audrey Harris and Allan Albert V’s Sue Albert, Jarrod Page and Jenny Murray with both teams making the move over the first 3 ends with Jenny’s team leading 4/2.

Unfortunately Allan’s team had no luck over the following 8 ends with Jenny’s team scoring 2 shots each end with Allan’s run ending on the 12th end.

Sue Albert, Jarrod Page and Jenny Murray won 28/2 on 11 ends.

They were the winners on the night.

Thursday Night Bowls
Last Thursday night 12 March the wind was blowing from the northeast on the southern end and north west from the northern end.

How crazy is that but it’s true! The green was still running around 16 seconds.

On rink 1 Lisa Kenny, Sue Albert and Allan Albert V’s Narelle Mayoh, Jarrod Page and Robert Smith with Allan’s team leading the way 8/2 on the 5th end.

Robert team scored 2 shots over 2 ends then Allan’s team scoring 3 shots to be leading 11/4 on the 8th end.

Over the last 4 ends Roberts team gained 5 shots only to go down on the 12th end to Lisa Kenny, Sue Albert and Albert 11/9 with 4 ends.

On rink 2 Audrey Harris and Jay Jay V’s Pattie Webb and Jenny Murray with Pattie and Jenny breaking away to a lead of 8/1 by the 5th end.

Audrey and Jay Jay fought back and over the next 4 ends and they picked up 7 shots to tie the score 8 all on the 9th end.

The last 3 ends looked to be a battle with Pattie and Jenny scoring 1 shot on the 10th end.

Then on the last 2 ends Audrey Harris and Jay Jay took control by gaining 5 shots to end the game on the 12th end 13/9 on 7 ends.

They were the winners on night.
Next week Sunday morning bowls will back so check the board for times.

Good bowling.
