Summit will open doors to regional opportunity

06/02/2024 by The Coonamble Times

If you have an eye to the future of your local community and want to connect with like-minded people then this year’s Inland Growth Summit could be the chance you’re looking for.

Residents from around the region are being invited to explore the future of regional NSW at a two-day showcase of innovation, influence and positive change from 21-22 February 2024 at the annual Inland Growth Summit – People and Place.

Hosted by Regional Development Australia (RDA) Orana, the summit will focus on key issues affecting the region including rural and remote health, training and education, people and community, circular and sustainability, and tourism and hospitality.

RDA Orana CEO, Justine Campbell said the summit would highlight the work being undertaken by thought leaders whose innovative ideas influence and guide people, places, communities and the environment.

“The summit will feature a variety of panels and networking opportunities for anyone interested in innovation, entrepreneurship and the future of regional NSW,” she said.
“The Orana region covers 12 local government areas, each with unique and amazing projects and programs occurring in these regions.
“We want to build on the momentum of what is currently happening and open the door to new opportunities through networking and new ideas.”

The two-day summit features an array of facilitators, keynote speakers and panellists including:
● Circular Australia Managing Director and CEO Lisa McLean
● Bega Group Executive Chair Barry Irvin
● Australian Government Regional Education Commissioner Fiona Nash
● SpinalCure Australia Executive Director Duncan Wallace
● Australian Healthcare and Hospitals Association Chief Executive, Kylie Woolcock
● Royal Flying Doctor Service of Australia (South Eastern Section) Chief Executive Officer, Greg Sam
● Callubri Station Owner, Angela Armstrong
● Yurruga Co-founder, Joe Williams
● Isolated Children’s Parents’ Association (ICPA) NSW President, Tanya Mitchell
● Boarding Schools Expo Australia Director, Amanda Ferrari.

Ms Campbell said RDA Orana established the Inland Growth Summit in 2019 to bring community and business leaders, policymakers, economic development professionals, local government and advocates together for change and to raise the profile of inland Australia.

“I encourage anyone with an interest in the prosperity of our region to attend the event. It is a great opportunity to exchange knowledge and experience, establish and strengthen partnerships and co-develop solutions for the Orana region,” she said.

Time-out for Coonamble Times

19/08/2026

This is the last edition of the Coonamble Times for the foreseeable future, after circumstances beyond the publisher’s control conspired to make continuing untenable. "I'm hoping this is not the end of the road for the Coonamble Times," says owner and editor Lee O'Connor. "However we are having to cease publishing from …
