The Macquarie Marshes in Warren Shire has always been renowned for its birdlife, with around 233 species recorded in the area. In July, 2021, funding was announced that sent birdwatchers – or twitchers, as they are known – flying into the air with excitement.
As part of the Coalition Government’s Economic Development Program, the Shire received $1.5 million, $500,000 of which was earmarked for the Monkeygar Bird Viewing Platform project.
Warren Council recently announced the platform is in its final stage of construction……
