A fair proportion of our district has received between 600 and 800 mm for the year to date with some now over 1,000 mm for a 365-day period. So, no wonder we are experiencing issues only normally found to the east in higher rainfall situations.
There is a couple of issues occurring in wheat that perhaps need to be taken into consideration on how varieties are performing this year.
With some varieties a discoloration in the heads and stems of wheat is showing up, the local varieties of concern are Spitfire, Stealth, Sunmax . . .
