From 1 August 2025, all three waste facilities in Quambone, Coonamble and Gulargambone will be running with reduced hours.
While they are determined to keep the vital facility running for ratepayers, council says they will have to reduce hours in order to manage the increasing costs of waste management and keep costs down for shire residents.
However, the plans are receiving some pushback, with residents in Quambone asking council to reconsider the reduced hours at their rubbish tip.
