A national review of the Water Act 2007 is examining whether Australia’s key water legislation can better recognise and protect Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples’ water rights, interests and responsibilities.
On Tuesday 16 June, Aboriginal people from across the region gathered in Dubbo to contribute to the review and share recommendations on how water law and governance could better reflect First Nations priorities.
