Coonamble’s Literacy for Life (LfL) program has received a last-minute lifeline allowing them to continue to mid-2026.
LfL Foundation CEO, Professor Jack Beetson, said that an undisclosed amount from an anonymous private donation secured in December 2025 will cover their course starting in February while the foundation looks for longer-term funding.
The program, which provides literacy basics for Indigenous adults and teenagers, has been running since 2023 but was unsuccessful in securing federal government funding in 2025.
